Lanternland
© 1999 Jayme Kelly Curtis

I met a man he took me down to Lanternland
He fed me a lotus blossom
And took me by the hand

I was a long, long time
In Lanternland
In his Lanternland

His lectures hypnotized me, they struck me blind
My questions came and went and
He paid no mind

I was a long, long time
In Lanternland
In Lanternland

In the blink of a bloodshot eye
The days passed by
I grew weary of this life
And all the colors passed me by

In Lanternland the people all have letters and degrees
They postulate their theories to the birds and the bees

I was a long, long time
In Lanternland
In Lanternland

By a blue moon's light I sailed away from Lanternland
Caught a deep-sea current out
And left 'em standing in the sand

It was a long way back
From Lanternland
From Lanternland
